Microneedling in Shoreham
One of my favourite treatments. Microneedling prompts your skin to make much more of its own collagen, for around a year afterwards, so it improves the quality of your skin without changing the shape of your face.

How microneedling works
Numbing cream goes on first. Then the fine needles of the microneedling pen work precisely over your skin, together with serums chosen for your concerns.
Your skin responds by producing collagen and elastin to repair itself, and keeps doing so for around a year. It becomes plumper and fresher, so the improvement builds over weeks rather than appearing on the day.
When the problem is the surface
Who it suits
If your face still has good structure but your skin looks dull, rough or uneven, or you have fine lines, old scarring or pigmentation, filler won't help. Skin quality is a separate problem.
Microneedling is often the first thing I suggest, because good skin makes every other treatment need less.
Texture and open pores
Skin texture improves and open pores look smaller across a course.
Fine lines
Superficial lines soften as the skin thickens and plumps.
Pigmentation
Unwanted pigmentation fades over a course of treatment.
Acne scars and other scarring
A course of six is recommended for scarring, from £200 a session. Expect steady improvement.
Stretch marks
Body-focused microneedling reduces the appearance of stretch marks. A course of six is £1,200.
Neck, décolletage and hands
Hands work hard and show it. The neck, chest and hands all respond well, from £200.
On the day
What a microneedling session involves
Sessions are usually four to six weeks apart, because your skin needs that long to do the work.
Prepare
Your skin is cleansed and numbing cream is applied and left to work. This is the longest part of the appointment, which is why the slot is 75 minutes.
Treat
I work the microneedling pen over the area at a depth chosen for your skin and your concern, with serums targeted at what you'd like to improve.
Recover
Expect to look flushed, like mild sunburn, for one to two days. You leave with aftercare instructions and a plan for your next session.

Most concerns need a course of three to six sessions four to six weeks apart, and six for scarring and stretch marks, followed by occasional maintenance.

Expect redness like mild sunburn for one to two days. Most people are comfortable in public the next day and back to makeup after 24 hours.

Numbing cream is applied first and left long enough to work properly. Most people describe pressure and vibration. Bonier areas like the forehead are felt more.

Skin looks brighter within about a week. Texture and firmness build over roughly three months, and your skin keeps producing more of its own collagen for around a year.
